Save the date! We are pleased to announce that the next Global Methane Forum will be held 18-20 March 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland. This event is being hosted by the Global Methane Initiative (GMI) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), in partnership with the Global Methane Hub and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).
Focused on Mobilizing Methane Action, the Global Methane Forum will be a premier global event that brings together policymakers, industry leaders, technical experts, finance institutions, nongovernmental organizations, and researchers from around the world to explore what’s being done globally to mitigate methane, to exchange policy, technical and finance solutions to reduce methane emissions, and to foster the mobilization of greater levels of ambitious action on methane.
Featuring:
- High-level plenary session on global efforts to mobilize methane action, including the benefits of accelerating action, sharing of methane mitigation successes, and financing solutions for methane mitigation projects
- Technical sessions on biogas (agricultural sources, municipal solid waste, municipal wastewater systems), coal mines, and oil and gas systems, including sharing of technical solutions and showcasing practical examples for sector-specific challenges
- Collaboration with meetings of the UNECE Group of Experts on Gas and Group of Experts on Coal Mine Methane and Just Transition
- Opportunities for in-person networking with technical experts in the public and private sectors and multilateral stakeholders
